According to the official program, the presentation of floral offerings before the monument of the hero of Calama will precede the central act, which contemplates the national anthem, the lighting of the votive flame, the Song to Abaroa and the silence with 21 artillery salutes. The honors are also replicated in other cities of the country.
Likewise, the words of the president, highly anticipated, are contemplated, because this takes place eight days after the start of the oral arguments before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) of The Hague in the lawsuit initiated by Chile for the waters of the Silala.

Yesterday, after the transfer of the remains of Abaroa, the Minister of Defense, Edmundo Novillo, summoned the Bolivian unit to “achieve this historical imperative of returning with sovereignty to our captive sea”.
“Today, in front of the mortal remains of the defender of Calama, we renew and reaffirm once again our sacred duty to defend our right and territory with the commitment to return to the waters of the Pacific through a sovereign port,” he said.
