The sequel series to “Sex and the City”, “And just like that…”, will have a second season after the good audience performance of the first part released at the end of last year, which takes up the story of New York friends 18 years after the end of the original romantic comedy.

HBO Max announced the renewal of the series starring and produced by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who return to their roles in their mid-fifties and without the presence of actress Kim Cattrall, who did not return with her portrayal of Samantha Jones nor it is expected to do so in the next season.

The original series ran for six seasons on HBO between 1998 and 2004, in which four friends in their 30s were romancing in New York, and there were two movies that followed the story in 2008 and 2010.

“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant and courageous characters, played by wonderful actresses,” “And Just Like That…” showrunner Michael Patrick King told Deadline.

The return of “Sex and the City” was well received on HBO Max and was the most-watched season opener of new original content from the streaming service.

The series was originally created by Darren Star, based on a book by Candace Bushnell.
