The executive director of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec), Marco Lavagna, assured this Tuesday, in Corrientes, that four percent of the country’s homes have already responded to the digital census, which, he considered, is going through “a promising beginning “.
Lavagna reported that, through the digital.censo.gob.ar virtual platform, 4 percent of homes throughout the country have been registered and that although “we still have a long way to go,” he said, “we see a promising beginning.” .
In Corrientes, today we had a working meeting with the governor @gustavovaldesok to finish diagramming the last details for the Day of the @Census2022, which will be on 05/18. And we talked about the enthusiasm for the #DigitalCensus which have already completed almost 13,000 homes in Corrientes. pic.twitter.com/YHg38RQpQp

“We already consider it a success that Argentina has the possibility of self-answering, since citizens have the right to be recognized, but they also have a civic obligation to do so,” said Lavagna, after a meeting with the governor of Corrientes, Gustavo Valdés.
The presence of the head of the Indec in Corrientes was due to the decision to federally articulate the fieldwork involved in the 2022 Census, which has been in the digital stage since March 16 and on May 18, starting at 8, will be held in person throughout the country, simultaneously.

In that sense, the national official explained that his visit to Corrientes aims “to outline the latest details and coordination for what will be the data count in person.”
“This will help us to get to know each other again, to know how we are, what our deficiencies are and to recognize ourselves in our ethnic and cultural differences,” he added.
The meeting with Valdés and Lavagna was also attended by the coordinator of the 2022 Census, Santiago Tettamanti; the Corrientes Ministers of Finance, Marcelo Rivas Pisantini, of Coordination and Planning, Miguel Olivieri, and the Director of Statistics and Census of Corrientes, Francisco Bosco.
❗️ The #Census2022 only has two ways to be answered: in https://t.co/XHLVwwDd9r (#DigitalCensus) or when census takers go through all the homes in the country on ? 05/18.
