The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) in Brasília sent to the Federal Court an administrative impropriety action against President Jair Messias Bolsonaro and former parliamentary secretary of the Chamber of Deputies Walderice Santos da Conceição.
The action, which also asks for the reimbursement of public resources, is related to the period in which Bolsonaro served as a federal deputy. According to the MPF, Walderice, known as Wal do Açaí, was nominated in February 2003 to occupy the position of parliamentary secretary. She remained fully booked until August 2018, when she was exonerated.
According to the MPF, during the period, Walderice was not in Brasília and did not perform a function related to the position and his bank account revealed an atypical movement, with cash withdrawals of more than 80% of the remuneration.
According to the action, jurisprudence of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) indicates that acts of improbity practiced before the inauguration as President of the Republic are not covered by the immunity provided for in Article 86, paragraph 4, of the Federal Constitution.
Em 2018, Jair Bolsonaro se pronunciou sobre o caso em uma publicação no Twitter. “They looked for my mother, slandered my father, turned my childhood upside down and now they attack an employee who, in addition to her role, took extra income, like any humble Brazilian,” he wrote at the time.
