Economic and Financial Week brings more knowledge

Details about the activities were offered by Governor Héctor Valdez Albizu.

The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) began the eighth Economic and Financial Week (#sefBCRD) organized by the institution.

Governor Héctor Valdez Albizu stated in a virtual message that “this effort is motivated by your interest and that of 35 participating public and private institutions to promote knowledge of economic and financial issues and contribute to their understanding by children, youth and Dominican adults.

The official extended an invitation to the follow-up of the #sefBCRD stating that it will be five intense days, with 60 activities, in which you can enjoy talks, conferences and workshops offered free of charge by the participating institutions, through the Zoom platform and the institutional channel from www.youtube/BancoCentralRD”.

The governor especially highlighted two of the activities that the Central Bank will offer: “One is the conference “Financial inclusion in Latin America: challenges and opportunities”, which will be given by Colombian economist Diana Mejía, senior specialist in productive and financial development at the Development Bank. from Latin America (CAF); and the other is the award ceremony for the “Economists of the Future” academic competition, the contest organized by the BCRD that gives Dominican high school seniors the opportunity to show their skills in dealing with economic and financial issues.”

The #sefBCRD is the event with the greatest scope of the “Central Classroom for economic and financial education” program, belonging to the set of social responsibility activities of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic. It is integrated into the economic and financial week of global celebration “Global Money Week”, coordinated by the foundation “Child and Youth Finance International”, which year after year has obtained resounding success.

The BCRD reported that all activities will be broadcast free of charge on Zoom and YouTube (BancoCentralRD) and will take place from Monday 21 to Friday 25, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm The program and all the information can be consulted at subportal www.bancentral.gov.do/sefbcrd and through social networks: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube with the hashtag #sefBCRD on the BancoCentralRD profile.

For this event there will be the participation of 35 entities, which are, among them, the associations of Savings and Credit Banks and Credit Corporations (Abancord).

Also participating in this version will be the Association of Multiple Banks of the Dominican Republic, Cibao de Ahorros y Préstamos, La Nacional de Ahorros y Préstamos, La Vega Real, Popular de Ahorros y Préstamos, the Dominican League of Savings and Loan Associations, Ademi banks , Adopem, Popular, Development Bank of Latin America -CAF-, Banesco, Banfondesa, BHD, Banreservas, Caribe, and Multiple Active Dominican, among others.
