Four managers of PDVSA Oriente were arrested for fuel trafficking

Four PDVSA-Oriente managers were arrested for their alleged participation in fuel trafficking, according to military sources.

Such arrests stem from file MP-40354-2022 substantiated by national prosecutors against corruption Ramón Torres and Farik Mora.

On this occasion, the detainees are: Captain Manuel Eduardo López Rivas (manager of PDV-Puerto Oriente), Jairo Alfredo Rodríguez Figuera (Superintendent of the Guaraguao Marine Terminal); Héctor Isaac Aguilera Domínguez (Superintendent of Movement of Crude Oil and Products) and Randy Alberto Barboza de la Rosa (President of PDV – Port).

Together with this group of managers, they also captured three legal representatives of the Sociedad Mercantil Servicios Marítimos Proel 777: Salvador del Valle Hernández Ron, Willy Javier Díaz Durán and Robert Daniel Díaz Durán.

Servicios Marítimos Proel 777 was one of the private companies that was allegedly part of an organized crime structure, according to investigations by the Public Ministry. Their representatives made irregular payments in foreign currency to officials of the Trade and Supply Management of Petróleos de Venezuela, CA, for the granting of “product loading windows”, according to the investigations.

Also, they presumably canceled Captain López Rivas in order to guarantee the irregular dispatch of additional products, such as kerosene and gas oil; this with the complicity of the managements involved.

Along with the arrests, security agencies carried out a series of raids, including three buildings located in Puerto La Cruz (Anzoátegui).

The indictment of the detainees is expected in the next few hours.
