Parents of students at the Fermín Naudeau Institute are upset, “there are no chairs” to teach classes

A group of tenth grade parents from the Fermín Naudeau Institute showed their discontent, since they have sent their children home because the teachers will not give them classes.

According to teachers, there are not enough chairs.

Others commented that it has been possible to see that a large number of campuses are not in adequate conditions to start classes. “The doors and sinks of the bathrooms are damaged, chairs are missing,” were some of the complaints.

More than 900,000 students returned to face-to-face classes last Monday, March 7, after two years of the pandemic and distance education (virtuality).

The Minister of Education (Meduca), Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, announced that 90% of schools nationwide were ready to receive students at the start of classes.

Gorday de Villalobos assured that they have worked to guarantee biosafety measures in the educational community, in order to avoid possible contagion cases.

However, of the 3,102 schools, in good condition to receive students and teachers there are 2,423; and 180 are not yet ready, so the reactivation of some of them has been postponed.
