EDITORIAL: The Russia-NATO conflict and the new world information disorder

In addition to confirming, once again, that the truth is the first casualty of any war, especially if it is inspired by the so-called “leaders” of the world, the conflict in Ukraine has made it clear on which side the so-called private companies known as social media.

Hardly any of the big companies that control the internet in the world, read Facebook, Google and others, as soon as the Russian special military operation in Ukraine began, did not hesitate for a second to erase the contents of RT and Sputnik from their websites. servers alleging that such information channels were nothing more than «propaganda instruments of the Kremlin».

It was not enough for such companies to unleash Russophobic hysteria overnight throughout the world, nor to silence the version of events on the Russian side. Meta Platforms, in an unexpected and temporary twist to its hate speech policies, allowed Facebook and Instagram users to incite violence against Russians and Russian soldiers in the context of the much-touted “invasion” from Ukraine.

As a Meta spokesman unashamedly stated: “As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we have temporarily allowed forms of political expression that would normally violate our rules, such as violent speech such as death to the Russian invaders.”

Before the start of hostilities between Russia and NATO, which experts say has turned Ukraine into the battlefield of the new design of the world order, these supposedly private information emporiums boasted of their function as “agora” of global freedom of expression.

How, then, is its rapid subordination to the “orders” of the so-called Western world, which militates in the increasingly expansive NATO, explained?

The economic war unleashed by the United States and its European minions against Russia may be disastrous, but its consequences for the planet remain to be seen, as is the case with the predicted new world political configuration. However, the war in Ukraine has already shown, from the media point of view, to which new information disorder these self-defined “democratic” channels of “communication” respond.

Unfortunately, there are many voiceless people in this world who still trust in using these platforms, championed “defenders of freedom of expression and of the press”, as platforms to spread their truths.

After the new informative order, established after the conflict Russia vs. NATO in Ukrainian lands, who guarantees the subsistence of any other vision of reality than that of the hegemonic single thought. Will the automated algorithms be to blame for the censorship against everything that threatens the establishment that ensures the huge profits of the business?

In the new communication scenario, dominated by the set of Western transnational media, it has become clear that using the “provided” informative weapons of the contrary does not offer any guarantee of impartiality or objectivity.

To think that the companies that increase their coffers every day with the trade in the privacy of personal data provided by the exploitation of human vanity, are interested in truth, justice and ethics, more than their enrichment, does not go beyond be childishly naive.
