The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, referred to the events that occurred last Friday in the Plaza Baquedano sector, where a protester hit his head hard on the pavement after being chased by Carabineros.
Monsalve affirmed that “with Constanza Martínez, our presidential delegate in the Metropolitan Region, we constituted a work team. We repeatedly saw and heard the videos of the events that occurred on Friday.”

“Based on that, we decided to request an investigation, through the regional delegate,” added the government authority.
The undersecretary assured that “we also heard and saw alerts, regarding the procedures used, and because of our role of upholding Human Rights and guaranteeing public safety, it is that we have requested and instructed this investigation.”
