Dyabala and Vlahovic bring Juventus closer to third position

Hoy Paraguay

Juventus easily beat Salernitana (2-0), bottom of the league, thanks to goals from Argentine Paulo Dyabala and Serbian Dusan Vlahovic on matchday 30 of Serie A.

The team led by Italian Massimiliano Allegri had no problem imposing their pace and game against Salernitana to make up for being eliminated from the Champions League by Villarreal last Wednesday, and sealed the match in the first half with a great performance by the ‘Jewel’, who led the Turinese attack.

The ‘Vecchia Signora’ started very strongly, not wanting to miss out on the opportunity to get closer to third position after Inter’s ‘prick’ against Fiorentina.

The Argentine midfielder took five minutes to open the scoring with a fine cut inside the area that sat down the rival defender and then defined the far post from the goalkeeper with his left foot.

The black and white team continued attacking a harmless Salernitana who could do nothing to stop today’s starting strikers, who shone at Juventus Stadium.

Allegri left Vlahovic on the bench last day and couldn’t score, but the brand new signing of ‘Juve’, in the midst of fighting with the Italian Ciro Immobile to become the ‘cappocannioneri’ of the league, did not miss his appointment with the goal and sealed his 21st goal of the season with a powerful header in the 29th minute to close out the game.

Juventus maintained dominance during the second half, although the Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny stopped the shot of Bosnian Milan Djuric in the clearest for Salerno.

The Spanish Álvaro Morata jumped from the bench in the 60th minute to replace Dybala, on his return to Serie A after his injury. In addition, Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini was the starter, having recovered from his injury and will be able to play in the playoffs with Italy.

With this victory, Juventus is fourth with 59 points, one behind Inter -which has one game in hand- and Salernitana still needs points to maintain the hope of saving the category.

For its part, Sampdoria beat Venice 0-2, while Empoli and Verona tied the draw (1-1), in a match in which the Argentine Giovanni Simeone missed a penalty.
