The Dominican Republic reported this Sunday 21 new cases of COVID-19the lowest number of infections recorded in one day throughout the pandemic.
To detect these cases, the Ministry of Health processed 3,890 tests COVID-19so the positivity daily was located at 0.54%.
The positivity of the last four weeks stood at 1.21%.
According to bulletin 731, with these new infectionsthe number of active cases of coronavirus rises to 529.
Of the 21 new infections, nine correspond to the National District, five to Santiago and three to San Pedro de Macorís. Meanwhile, in Samaná, La Vega, La Romana and Azua, one case was registered, respectively.
This Sunday no new deaths are reported, so the total number of deaths during the pandemic remains at 4,375, for a fatality rate of 0.76%.
To date, there are a total of 577,338 registered cases; 572,434 recovered and 2,616,638 were discarded.
Regarding hospital occupation, 125 people with COVID-19 are admitted to intermediate care, which represents 5% of the 2,373 beds designated for these patients.
While 25 people are in intensive care due to complications with the virus. This represents an occupation of 4% of the 585 ICU beds for COVID-19.
Regarding the use of fans, 25 of a total of 469 are in use, representing 5%.
According to the National Vaccination Plan, as of March 18, the country has received 15,419,005 doses of vaccines against COVID-19of which 7,170,986 correspond to the first dose, 5,897,465 to the second and 2,273,991 to the third.
