With the 153 cases of new coronavirus registered in the last 24 hours in Córdoba, the province completes a cumulative total of 963,377 since the start of the pandemic, when this Sunday marks two years since the first strict quarantine was declared in the country.

In addition, 7,825 deaths from the disease have been reported since the start of the pandemic, while no new deaths were known in the last report.

Regarding the demand for critical beds for the treatment of Covid-19, 0.7% of the available places in the province are currently occupied, as a result of the fact that 25 people are hospitalized with the pathology.

Of this total number of patients, 12 (48%) are on mechanical ventilation.

In the province of Córdoba, the peak in bed occupancy had been recorded on June 18, in the midst of the second wave of the pandemic, when the percentage of occupied beds reached 87.1% on average, times when some localities had their health system collapsed.

The evolution of the vaccination campaign was one of the factors that allowed the massive infections that occurred between the end of December and last January not to saturate the hospitals again, while there are practically no restrictions, only the mandatory use of the mask and some minimum capacity reduced in a few items and in minimum percentages.
