Still on this 20th, it is time to remember the architect Lina Bo Bardi (naturalized Brazilian), who died 30 years ago. To learn more about these artists, the collection of Brazil Communication Company provides relics.

An example is the material available in the Program remember is TV (2019). The rescued images are from 1978, originally shown by the program the magicians. Actor Paulo José, from Lavras do Sul, remembers the beginning of his career, how he overcame inhibition and built the first characters.

The artist is known as someone who helped to renew dramaturgy in Brazilian television.

Paulo José’s career includes 39 films, 21 soap operas, 25 miniseries, 31 plays and 22 productions as a director. Although he is from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Paulo José, as reported by the EBCstarted at Teatro de Arena, in São Paulo, where he acted as stagehand, assistant director, producer, musical director, set designer, costume designer and, only later, an actor (from 1961, with the play Testament of a cangaceiro).

the long journey

Another famous artist born on this date is the São Paulo writer Paulo Menotti Del Picchia (1892 – 1988), a prominent name in the 1922 Modern Art Week (check out special material on the topic). Del Picchia was the author, for example, of the long journey (1972), which deals with revolutions, wars and also on advances in technologies during the 20th century.

The work was the highlight of MEC Radio Memorywhich you can listen to here.

This 20th, also, marks the 30th anniversary of the loss of the architect Lina Bo Bardi, who was born in Italy, but settled and loved Brazil. She created the São Paulo Museum of Art, for example. To learn more about the artist who incorporated Brazilianness into her citizenship and also into her work, a reference is the biography written by Francesco Perrotta-Bosch, who explained in an interview in an interview with Art Club that Lina loved the new land.

our water

This week, also, a remarkable date is Tuesday (22), World Water Day. Reports and programs from EBC have repeatedly called attention to the need to protect this precious asset.

In 2018, the Brazil Agency published a series of ten reports with the title of Dry Lives in the Land of Waters, which were aired on the occasion of the World Water Forum, held in March of that year. The name of the special is related to the 80th anniversary of the book Dried livesby Graciliano Ramos.

The journalistic materials bring historical panoramas, problems, contrasts, challenges and solutions to the complex issues related to water supply in the country. The reports were recognized in two journalism awards (one from Massey Fergusson and the other from the National Water Agency).
