Minister Juan Pino, Deputy Minister Ivor Pitti and the Mayor of San Miguelito, Héctor Carrasquilla, participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the future facilities of the “San Miguelito Municipal Operations Center”, which will have 600 video surveillance cameras.
The cameras will be located in more than 200 strategic points including entrances and exits of the San Miguelito district. The purpose of the project is to create a comprehensive prevention platform between the Municipality of San Miguelito, security and emergency departments, said Carrasquilla.
Minister Juan Manuel Pino reported on the results that have been obtained, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence. He also referred to the decrease in homicides in the district of San Miguelito.
The San Miguelito Municipal Operations Center will have equipment for monitoring and dispatch, facial and license plate recognition, panic buttons (strategically located), megaphones within the coverage areas and the 104 system, reported Commissioner Ronald Jaén.
