Editorial responsibility

Final editorial responsibility lies with Julio César Borrero, publisher and editor-in-chief. All content published on this site is reviewed by the editorial team before publication. We do not run unsupervised automated content generation.

Sources and fact-checking

We prefer primary sources (official statements, court records, public databases, direct interviews) over secondary aggregators.
We attribute information and link to original sources whenever possible.
When a story relies on a single source, we make that clear in the text.
We do not republish third-party content verbatim. When we summarize a report from another outlet, we credit the outlet and link to it.

Use of artificial intelligence

We may use AI tools to assist with research, translation, drafting headlines, or generating initial drafts that are then reviewed, edited and verified by a human editor before publication. We do not publish AI-generated content without human review. We disclose AI involvement when it is materially relevant to the story.

Corrections and updates

If you spot an error in any of our articles, please email [email protected]. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with the date of the correction.

Comments and moderation

We may enable comments on our articles. Comments that contain insults, harassment, spam, or violate applicable law will be removed. We reserve the right to moderate without prior notice.

Independence

Latin American News is editorially independent. We do not receive funding from political parties or governments. Our revenue comes from display advertising and sponsored content (clearly labeled).
