Promoted by Councilor Fassi, the municipality approves public bathrooms and stoves

The councilor of the Frente Amplio (MPP) highlighted to EL ECO as one of the main advances the approval, through the POA, of the project to build a battery of public bathrooms in the Corbacho Beach area, in front of the Eolo.

“Our request was approved by the entire municipal council,” in the session on Wednesday the 25th, he noted. He explained that this is an initiative that had already been raised in previous sessions, but that had not achieved concrete progress. “I put it back on the table and the mayor said yes, it would be good to make a battery of bathrooms.”

The project foresees that “the structure will be designed in coordination with architects from the Municipality”, seeking that it be “beautiful, accessible, practical” and that “it does not generate a negative visual impact”, but rather that it “integrates harmoniously into the landscape.” In addition, the proposal contemplates that the service “remain open throughout the year.”

Cabbages in the lagoon

Another concern conveyed by Fassi to the Council was the environmental situation of Laguna Solís, in Punta Gorda. As he explained, residents of the area expressed their concern about the proliferation of “cabbage” in the reflecting pool. The municipality “will collaborate with a truck to remove this plant waste and advance in cleaning the place.”

Stoves on beaches

In terms of meeting spaces, “the project to build community stoves was also approved.” These are circular stone structures, at ground level, with a central space for the bonfire. Fassi explained that the objective is to “generate areas of dispersion and intergenerational coexistence in cared for environments that are harmonizable with the landscape.”

The stoves “could be installed on Playa Brisas and Playa de los Argentinos”, in the Higueritas Dock area, although for this “it will be necessary to request authorization from Hydrography.” “It is a low-cost project with high social impact, which arises from exchange with society,” he stressed.

amphibious chair

Likewise, the councilor raised the need to “put into operation the amphibious chair belonging to the Lions Club, currently stored in the municipal corral” and which, as he indicated, “was not used” during the last summer season. Fassi proposed working so that next summer “it is available in a visible and accessible place for those who require it.”

Camping

On the tourism level, he presented the initiative to “create a camping area in Punta Gorda, particularly in the area before La Piedra Grande and close to the inn.” He pointed out that many people already camp there, but without having a conditioned space or minimal services. The proposal aims to manage, through Tourism, the formal authorization of “an area that guarantees comfort and maintenance of cleanliness.”

Battalion

Finally, Fassi reported that he had a conversation with the general of the Colonia battalion, who “expressed the willingness of personnel to work in a coordinated manner with the Municipality and the Municipality on days or tasks that the city requires.”
