Carlos Zárate, member of the Mixed Commission, informed that this Sunday the registration and reception of the documents of the applicants for the position of Ombudsman. Attention will start at 08:00 until noon.

So far we have no applicants. It is worth mentioning that different people have gathered who have gathered more information about the requirements and about the call,” said Zárate.

He explained that, despite the fact that no applicant was registered, people went to the offices to request guidance, information and requirements to apply. So this Commission will work on Sunday waiting for possible applicants.

This Mixed Commission for the Constitution of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP) receives applications from candidates who must meet 18 requirements. This registration will last until April 1.

According to the Political Constitution of the State (CPE) the Ombudsman exercises functions for a period of six years, without the possibility of a second appointment.

The requirements for applying for this position are:

1. Have Bolivian nationality.
2. Have reached the age of 30 up to the time of appointment.
3. Have completed military service.
4. Not having an executed charge sheet pending compliance.
5. Not have a conviction in criminal matters.
6. Not have a conviction in matters of violence.
7. Take an oath not to incur in the cases of prohibition or incompatibility established in paragraphs 1 and 2 of articles 236 and 239 of the Political Constitution of the State.
8. Be registered in the electoral roll
9. Speak at least two official languages ​​of the country.
10. Not having fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity with members of the ALP, with representatives of supra-state organisms or the hierarchical authorities of the organs of the State.
11. Have proven ethical personal integrity.
12. Have a recognized track record in defense of human rights.
13. Not have disciplinary or criminal administrative proceedings for violence against women and children.
14. Not have processes for discrimination.
15. Not having participated or been involved in acts of military or de facto governments.
16. Not having been a leader of political organizations, or a candidate.
17. Not having any militancy.
18. Not be or have been appointed to the position of minister, deputy minister or ambassador.

Interested parties must submit their signed application letter and attaching the supporting documentation of the established requirements in article 8 of the Regulation, and the support of the curriculum vitae or life sheet duly paged in a sealed envelope labeled, indicating full name, identity card, telephone number, home address and email.
