Iran’s ambassador to Brazil, Abdollah Nekounam, defended that the United States (USA) is not really seeking a nuclear agreement with the Persian country. According to him, this could be achieved through negotiations. 
“Today, the meeting of experts on nuclear issues was scheduled to take place in Vienna [capital da Áustria] through the IAEA [Agência Internacional de Energia Atômica]. But again, the negotiating table was attacked by the Zionist regime [Israel] and by the USA”, he said.
Amid the war against the United States and Israel, Iran’s ambassador to Brazil, Abdollah Nekounam, invited the press to a press conference at the country’s Embassy, in Brasília, this Monday (2).
For the diplomat, Israel and the United States used negotiations on the nuclear issue as a “sham” in order to promote “regime change” in Iran. The aggression would be the result of a “vision” of the United States that imagines that it is “the masters of the world”, argued the Iranian representative.
“The current president of the USA thinks he is the king of the world. It may be that some countries, due to their interests, can accept these allegations and imaginations. But the Islamic Republic of Iran, for 47 years, has been seeking its independence”, he added.
Nekounam also highlighted that the country quickly replaced the command of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated last Saturday (28), with a Interim Council which maintained the country’s defense in a “continuous, firm and powerful” way, without discontinuities in the power structure of the Iranian State.
To analysts consulted for the Brazil Agencythe regime change in Tehran aims to stop China’s economic expansion, seen as a threat by the United States, in addition to consolidating Israel’s political and military hegemony in the Middle East.
On the other hand, Tel Aviv and Washington claim that the attack against Iran is “preventive” as the country is developing a nuclear device program, which would be a threat to Israel. Tehran has always maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

Epstein case
Iran’s ambassador to Brazil Abdollah Nekounam questioned the legitimacy of the United States to “manage the planet” citing the case of the files of Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier convicted of sexual abuse of minors and human trafficking.
“Our world has a much higher value to be administered by the ‘kings’ who, in Epstein’s files, are increasingly involved. People who have crossed the boundaries of humanity do not deserve and are not worth managing the sovereignty of the world,” he added.
The rEpstein’s elations with the North American political elite – the businessman was a friend of President Trump – has caused political shocks in the country and among several of Washington’s allies.
Administration of Iran
The Iranian ambassador to Brazil also highlighted that the country managed to replace Supreme Leader Khamenei without harming the country’s defense, ruling out hypotheses that the country could be left without command with Khamenei’s death.
“Iran is a completely sovereign country and the management and administration of the country is in force and in full form,” said Nekounam.
An Interim Leadership Council has been appointed to take over Khamenei’s powers until the Assembly of Experts elects a new Supreme Leader.

Brazil’s position regarding the war
Asked about Brazil’s position in relation to the conflict, Ambassador Abdollah Nekounam thanked the demonstration by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) which condemned the use of force by Israel and the USA.
“We believe and see this action on the part of the Brazilian government as a valuable action and pays attention to the values of human beings, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence from governments”, he commented.
The diplomat defended Tehran’s right to attack enemy military bases.
“It is our right, because we were attacked, because we are defending ourselves with legitimate rights. Regarding our friendly relations with our neighboring countries, there is no disagreement. Our actions are against US military bases and some centers of the Zionist regime. This is not considered an attack on the territories of these mentioned countries”, he explained.
Iran’s attacks are estimated to have hit US targets in countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait and Jordan.
