Commissions of the Bolivarian National Police (Cpnb) seized a shipment of 62 kilos with 811 grams of marijuana during a river operation carried out in the Angostura del Orinoco municipality.
After arduous intelligence work, the troops detected irregular movements in the area, which allowed the location of 163 wrappers of the narcotic in the Boca de Aro sector, specifically on El Aro Island.
The procedure was carried out jointly by the Anti-Drug Division (DCD) and the Aquatic Spaces Police Division (Dpea). The mobilization of officials responded to alerts issued by local residents, who reported the unusual transit of curiara-type boats coming from the upper towns of the Orinoco River.
Upon arriving at the site, the officers located the substance distributed in four bags, although no arrests were recorded at the scene of the discovery.
This administrative and operational action is part of the citizen security guidelines ordered by the sector vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello.
The seized material was kept under the custody of the competent authorities to further investigate and determine the responsibilities of this shipment of illicit substances through the banks of the Orinoco, reinforcing the operation of the popular, military and police fusion.
