Delcy Rodríguez said that the popular consultation scheduled for March 8 is a “democratic exercise”, where communities can “decide” on their public policies. “We are protected by the Constitution of Venezuela, deepening democracy”
Delcy Rodríguez assured that Chavismo is “calling to strengthen popular power” with new popular consultations this year, a mechanism implemented to grant direct investment to projects developed by communal councils.
«This is an extraordinary opportunity in this first quarter to set the course for Venezuela. It is a Venezuela that matures more collectively every day, that becomes more collectively conscious every day and we are calling to strengthen popular power,” said Rodríguez during his participation in the mock popular consultation.
The official explained that in the popular consultation, scheduled for March 8 and where those over 15 years of age participate, there are more than 36 thousand projects selected to be voted on in the communes, a form of government that the ruling party insists on integrating into the Constitution.

Likewise, he said that 67% of these proposals correspond to public services, while the remaining 33% are related to economic issues and popular entrepreneurship. He also indicated that “direct financing” will be granted for youth projects in the 10 communes with the highest votes.
Rodríguez said that this is a “democratic exercise,” where communities can “decide” on their public policies. “We are protected by the Constitution of Venezuela, deepening democracy.”
«The electoral system improves its mechanisms every day. What we have seen here is that for this first popular consultation of the year 2026 we will have a thousand more voting centers, which allows for greater participation, which is accessible throughout the territory,” said Rodríguez.
