The young woman, 22 years old, was found dead the afternoon of last Sunday, February 15 inside a cistern in the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra. According to a preliminary evaluation by the National Police, he had a blunt blow to the forehead that would have been the cause of death, a fact that has shocked the community.
The young woman slept with her younger sister in separate rooms, behind her mother’s home and, according to the mother, the individuals committed the act in early morning hours.
“Because at 1:00 I was talking with her still, and the Police circling the yard and the criminals inside doing their thing.”
The threats
According to the mother, her daughter had been threatened along with her 9-year-old sister, after going to a police station on Friday, February 13, to file a complaint against Elías Castillo, alias “el Patrón”, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the death and who allegedly he besieged her and tried to maintain a relationship with her, which she refused.
“From there to there, they stopped where she was and threatened her… They told her ‘We are going to make you bathe in blood’ and they said an obscene word to the other. From there to there she came running away and sent me a voice note and told me: ‘Mommy, I’m not coming back and whatever has to happen because they didn’t listen to me,'” she narrated.

This Saturday before the hearing where it was known measure of coercion to “Patrón” and two other defendants, the family’s lawyer Deivy Castillo Ferrer, stated that the accused “had a possessive fixation and sickly” with the young woman.
“He wanted it to be his or nobody’s, and she had her partner, who is also a witness in this process,” he said.
Castillo Ferrer explained that after the incident the victim’s mother has received constant threats. Even on the day of the wake, several individuals came to the scene and fired shots.
Likewise, he clarified that the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) discarded that the young woman was pregnant. “What cannot be ruled out is that there was a physical violation of the person,” he said.
“No one is above the law”

While the measure of coercion, relatives of the deceased today they protested on the outskirts of the Judicial City of Santo Domingo Este (SDE), where the victim’s sister, Mia Victoria, claimed to have been threatened and expressed that she fears for her life.

Hearing postponed
The SDE Permanent Attention Office postponed for the next Wednesday March 4 the request for measure of coercion against Elías Castillo, alias “el Patrón”, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the young woman’s death, as well as Jeison Stiven Javier Cabral, nicknamed “Copiloto”, and Pablo Antonio Calcaño Silverio, alias “Maiki”, 43 years old, both arrested in the case.
According to Santa Guerrero, another legal representative of the family, the hearing was rescheduled due to issues of budget raised by the defense of the accused. The hearing was set for 9:00 in the morning in the Judicial City.
Defense of the accused
This is the third time the hearing has been postponed. On the previous occasion, the defendant’s lawyer, Cristian García, filed an appeal habeas corpus with the aim of his client being released.
Before the hearing, García maintained that the true author of the act would be a man identified only as “Popeye”, who—as he stated—is free.
