SANTIAGO. With a firm call for unity and social mobilization, presidential candidate Abel Martínez led a massive meeting in Hato del Yaque, where he assured that the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) is the only force capable of returning direction and stability to the Dominican Republic.
In an act marked by enthusiasm and commitment, Martínez made it clear that his presidential project is not just a political aspiration, but an inviolable pact with the productive sectors and popular bases that yearn for a real positive transformation in the country.
Statements by Abel Martínez
Abel assured that in the yellow star party unity, agreement, common sense and consensus will prevail, because “that is what the militancy of that political organization and the people aspire to.”
“The future expects of the PLD, and especially of those of us who aspire to lead the country, that we agree to remove the PRM and its bad government from power, so that people can live as they deserve: with dignity. We have a great task ahead of us and we assume it as always, with determination, with courage and with the conviction that we are called to make possible the true transformation of the Dominican Republic,” concluded Abel Martínez, also ensuring that he will be the presidential candidate of the PLD.
The event served as the setting for a key political moment: the swearing-in of a group of former members of the People’s Force, who decided to return to the ranks of the purple party to formally join Martínez’s presidential project. The opposition leader received those sworn in with an opening message, highlighting that the PLD is the home of those who wish to work with determination for the national well-being.
The meeting had the support of key figures from the party and municipal and provincial structure, highlighting the presence of the members of the Central Committee: Willy Mata, councilor and president of the Hato del Yaque City Council; Sergio Beato, president of Dignidad Jurídica, the PLD lawyers’ union in Santiago and vice president of the PLD; Bray Vargas and Mayobanex Martínez, deputies of the Santiago province.
Also Héctor Concepción (Father) and Ambioris González, councilors of the Santiago City Council; Michael García, general secretary of the PLD in Hato del Yaque; as well as Pablo Grullón, Aníbal Abreu, Adalgisa Torres González, former candidate for vice mayor, and Eduardo Rodríguez, councilor for Las Canelas, among other members of the CC, middle leaders, activists and representatives of various sectors of civil society.
