Héctor Rodríguez: popular consultation gives political control to families

The sectoral vice president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez, highlighted the protagonism and political power that the people will exercise in the next National Popular Consultation on March 8where the inhabitants of each commune and communal circuits in the country will choose from more than 36,000 prioritized projects for their communities.

“The National Popular Consultation is an electoral mechanism created to deconcentrate the bureaucracy and give political control to the families integrated into Communes and Communal Circuits, it is to give the exercise of Government to the citizens,” Rodríguez confirmed during a tour of the La Trilla sector of Caracas, in which he highlighted the importance of this and all the popular consultations that have been held in the country.

Political power is assumed by the people

Rodríguez specified that each national popular consultation where political power is assumed by the people, consists of four phases, the first of which is the diagnosis of the situation, carried out through the Concrete Action Agenda (ACA); The projects to be chosen are then prioritized.

The third phase corresponds to the execution of the works by the commune or communal circuits of the country; and finally, accountability.

“With this electoral system of the people, the money that the Executive delivers directly to the Communal Circuits to attend to their priorities yields more because companies do not intervene,” emphasized Héctor Rodríguez.

Responses to “groups and not just individual difficulties”

In that sense, he invited Venezuelans to exercise their right to vote in the National Popular Consultation on March 8, to provide answers to this process that encompasses groups and not only individual difficulties, the sectoral Vice Presidency for Socialism cited in a press release.

“The collective affects us, if we do not get involved in the collective, the children do not have a place and a safe space to live, if we do not get involved in the collective, we cannot solve the water problem (…) To the extent that the majority is involved in the collective, decisions are made with the interest of everyone,” Rodríguez concluded.
