The president Luis Abinader highlighted this Friday that during 2025 more than 32 thousand definitive title certificatesbenefiting more than 130 thousand people throughout the country, which brings the titles granted to almost 162 thousand so far in this administration and some 650 thousand Dominicans impacted by this policy, which he defined as the government action that moves him the most.
“Let me tell you something with absolute sincerity: This is probably the government action that moves me the most.. When I go to one of those activities—which I always, in all Government activities, am represented by the vice president—I tell her: no, Raquel, you’re not going; I’m going,” declared the president during his accountability speech before the National Assembly.
He pointed out that when his government authorities deliver a property title, it is not just a document, but rather legal security, peace of mind and future for the benefited families.
“I have seen tears in the eyes of mothers and fathers who for decades dreamed of that moment. And in those moments one clearly understands why every effort, every reform and every difficult decision is worth it,” declared the head of state.
He continued: “That is real social mobility. That is dignity converted into a right. That is putting people first… Because if the title gives legal security, owning your own home gives roots, stability and a sense of belonging. There is no clearer symbol of family progress than being able to say: this roof is mine.”
New homes
Likewise, Luis Abinader highlighted that last year, through the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings, 2,125 new homes were delivered to Dominican families through the My Housing and Happy Family programs.
“And we are not stopping. This year, 3,115 additional homes will be ready for delivery, backed by an investment of 3 billion pesos in subsidy bonds. In addition, we have already secured 5 billion pesos for 2026, which will allow us to support 5,192 new housing solutions,” he guaranteed.
Furthermore, the president added that in 2025, 6,158 homes were intervened through repair and rehabilitation programs such as Dominicana Se Reconstruye, benefiting more than 20,198 people in conditions of extreme poverty, with an investment of more than RD$1,756 million.
“For thousands of families, this meant changing a dirt floor for a solid one, replacing a vulnerable roof and regaining security within their own home,” he said.
