The National Council of Justice (CNJ) determined this Friday (27) the removal of judge Magid Nauef Láuar, from the 9th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJMG). The magistrate was also the target of an operation by the Federal Police (PF).
The measure was taken after the judge was the target of investigation requests for having cast a vote that led to the acquittal of a man accused of rape of a 12-year-old girl and the girl’s mother, who allegedly connived at the crime.
In a press release, the CNJ confirmed that, following the repercussions of the case, it received complaints that the magistrate had committed sexual offenses during the period in which he served as a judge in the districts of Ouro Preto (MG) and Betim (MG).
According to the council, five alleged victims of the judge have already been interviewed by the National Justice Inspectorate. Upon identifying that there are recent facts, which have not yet expired, the CNJ determined that the investigation of the complaints should continue.
In light of the accusations, Magid Nauef will be removed from office to avoid interference in the investigation.
Retreat
This Wednesday (25), before being removed, the judge made an individual decision and reinstated the first instance decision who sentenced the man and the teenager’s mother. He also ordered the arrest of the accused.
TJMG informed that the judge will not comment.
