The National Assembly unanimously approved, in second discussion, the Law of the Venezuelan Red Cross, a legal instrument intended to regulate, protect and strengthen the humanitarian work of this institution in the country.
This legal initiative was created to solve any incident or natural disaster that occurs in the national territory, in order to mitigate the rate of injuries and civilian casualties after providing immediate attention to the victims.
The Venezuelan Red Cross Law has 28 articles to its credit and seeks to lay the foundations for this international body to work jointly with the security and prevention bodies of the Venezuelan State, with a view to providing stability and protection to the survivors of a tragedy.
It should be noted that the legal instrument is the product of a national debate that began in 2025, in which more than 350 proposals were received from professional experts and from the
group of volunteers
