FANB joins the national vaccination plan against yellow fever

In response to yellow fever outbreak affecting several countries in the region since 2025, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) announced this Thursday that it will reinforce vaccination days in Venezuela, joining the initiatives promoted by the national government and health authorities.

Through a publication on social networks, the Ministry of Defense reported that the FANB will be integrated into the National Vaccination Plan to contribute to immunization in 22 parishes considered key to stopping the spread of the disease.

“Faced with the outbreak of yellow fever, the FANB joins the national vaccination plan, a day that is advancing strongly in 22 key parishes to stop the advance of this disease,” the ministry said in its official message.

The institution He explained that the campaign prioritizes the states of Lara, Barinas, Portuguesa and Aragua, regions that are part of the first deployment of vaccines and prevention actions.

Venezuela promotes annual vaccination against yellow fever

This strengthening of the campaign occurs after a meeting between the president in charge of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, and representatives of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), in which “technical cooperation guidelines” were agreed upon to support the national health system in the midst of the outbreak.

According to an official note, the meeting held at the Miraflores Palace was also attended by the Minister of Health of Venezuela, Nuramy Gutiérrez, along with the PAHO representative in the country, Armando De Negri Filho.

The Ministry of Health also indicated that this vaccination effort will be maintained throughout the year, in compliance with the instructions given by Rodríguez, with the aim of expanding coverage among the population.

In parallel, the president of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS)Carlos Alvarado, reported the launch of a theoretical-practical workshop aimed at health professionals, teachers and students of the Hugo Chávez University of Health Sciences. This training addresses aspects of prevention and treatment of yellow fever, according to the Ministry of Health itself.
