The 1st Miranda Trial Court decreed a sentence consisting of 30 years in prison for Eduardo Gabriel Antillano Romero (34), Gustavo José Castro Betancourt (34) and Alejandro Rodríguez Carmona (31), for their responsibility in the death of Nelson Daniel Gutiérrez Guerra (28), the Public Ministry reported. Such a situation occurred on June 28, 2019 in the Carrizal municipality of Miranda state.
That day, the victim and two other friends were traveling in a private van to the aforementioned town to buy a vehicle that they had seen on social networks. Once at the scene, they were surprised by those now convicted aboard some motorcycles, who with firearms shot the young man several times and then stripped him of 14,000 US dollars in cash, cell phones and immediately fled the scene.
After what happened, the victim was taken to the Victorino Santaella Ruiz de Los Teques hospital where he died. After investigation work, the responsibility of the aggressors for the death of Gutiérrez Guerra was determined, for which they were detained near the Alí Primera station, Los Teques Metro, by Cicpc agents.
At the trial, the Prosecutor’s Office ratified the accusation against Antillano Romero, Castro Betancourt and Rodríguez Carmona for the crime of homicide qualified with treachery and for futile reasons in the execution of a robbery, the report says.
Once the evidence was collected, the aforementioned Mirandi court handed down the aforementioned sentence against Rodríguez, who will serve his sentence in the Hombres Nuevos Penal Judicial Confinement Center in Tocuyito (Carabobo); while Castro in the El Rodeo II Judicial Confinement Center and Antillano Romero in the Sargento David Viloria Penitentiary Center, located in Barquisimeto.
