TV Brasil won first place in the ranking of public institutions with the highest number of interactions on social networks considering the entire year 2025. The data is from the Social Media Gov platform.
Other accounts managed by Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) were also among the TOP 10:
- EBC (3rd place),
- Gov Channel (4th place) and
- Brazil Agency (7th place).
From January to December, TV Brasil recorded 86,410,208 interactions on social media, surpassing, for example, the profiles of the Government of Brazil (@govbr), which came in second place with 79,935,311 interactions. The survey considers likes, comments, shares and other forms of engagement on the main platforms.
According to the president of EBCAndre Basbaum, the advancement is in line with the purpose of the work carried out by public communication.
“Expanding the reach of reliable information of collective interest is an essential part of our mission, especially in a context in which open TV and social networks remain among the main means of consuming content in Brazil”, he comments.
Basbaum adds that the results also reflect strategic management decisions.
“We have invested in a planned and consistent manner in networks, investing in new languages and formats that are more connected to digital dynamics. Bringing citizens closer to public communication requires innovation, listening and presence where they are. The numbers show that we are on the right path”, he celebrates.
All public institutions in the TOP 10 interactions will receive a certificate during the 15th edition of the Redes Wegov event, which will take place on April 28th and 29th, in Florianópolis (SC).
Last year, EBC won the 3rd edition of the Social Media Gov Award, the main honor for communication on social networks in the public sector, in the “Communication as a Service” category. The institution won with the program’s content case Uncensoredfrom the TV Brasilwhich addressed topics such as health, safety and the use of screens in childhood.
The category aims to reward “institutions that promoted information of public interest, through accurate and relevant content”.
The retrospective of measurements carried out by Social Media Gov points to progress in the company’s digital performance EBCshowing gains in relevance, greater public engagement and consolidation of the strategy. In 2023, data showed that accounts managed by EBC they did not even appear on the list of the 10 accounts of federal institutions with the highest number of interactions. In 2024, first place was occupied by the Brazilian Army, with 17,927,265 interactions. EBC was in 6th place, with 6,731,887.
Best historical performance
Also in 2025, according to figures from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), EBC recorded its best historical performance on social media, totaling around 150 million interactions on the Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X platforms, triple the number recorded in 2024.
The result was driven both by editorial content from TV Brasil, Gov Channel, EBC and Brazil Agency and the adoption of organic circulation strategies that consolidated the company as a reference in digital public communication. In January of this year, the EBC also launched Radiojournalism profiles on all networks.
Survey of the Data Analysis Management of Communication Platforms of the EBC points out that, together with all the company’s profiles on all platforms, the content had more than 3 billion views over the last year.
For the superintendent of Digital Communication and Social Media, Fernando Miranda, this result proves that public communication can be competitive. “We build community, presence and trust. This is true organic engagement, guided by a talented team and an editorial commitment to the public interest”, he says.
