Neighborhood Community Centers, the one in Barrio Prieto will soon be enabled
Starting next week, registration will begin for the courses that will be taught in several of the Neighborhood Community Centers in the city of Melo.
Some are in the building remodeling stage, such as the Barrio Prieto location, while others are already fully operational.
“We are working hard, first in terms of putting the Communals into operation. There were only 4 of the 9 that currently exist in conditions of functioning because some had commissions. There are 5 more that we are trying to do a total restructuring from the building point of view, which has taken a lot of time and a significant economic cost as well” expressed the Dr. Richard Fonseca.
“Now we are finishing the Barrio Prieto Community where a loan was signed with the Catholic Church. We managed to completely restore it, only the ceiling and the electrical installation are missing. We believe that in 15 days it will be operational” estimated the person in charge of Neighborhood Centers of the Municipality of Cerro Largo.
“From there we are going to start the strongest work of the year” said.
Fonseca began that at the level of the residents of the different neighborhoods there is a high demand for different types of activities to be generated in the Community Centers, such as, for example, courses that were already being taught in several of them. “The idea is to strengthen this proposal, diversify the type of courses and within that framework we will try to have a presence in all the Communals” he remarked.
TODAY WORKSHOP ON HEALTH IN TIRIRICA NEIGHBORHOOD
“In coordination with the Medical Department we plan an activity that we are going to take to all the Neighborhood Centers” advertisement.
“We are going to start this afternoon in the Tiririca neighborhood, Castellanos almost Muñoz. Between 3 and 5 p.m., talks will be given by health professionals.” confirmed to THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
Doctors Specialized in Diabetes, Nutritionists and Dentists will be present.
“In principle, it is scheduled that this same type of activity will be carried out in 5 Communals. On February 26 we will be in Barrio Leone, on March 2 in Barrio Humberto Pica and on March 5 in Barrio Prieto. They are talks on health promotion and prevention” reported.
PARTICIPATHIC BUDGET
Dr. Richard Fonseca also announced the implementation of one of his campaign promises: the Participatory Budget.
“It is reflected in the Budget of the Departmental Government” he assured.
“When we were in the Budget preparation stage, we tried to make that idea firm because it was a promise that we had made to the people. We understand that it is a form of direct participation of the people in the materialization of works in the Departmental Government. It is also a way of visualizing the shortcomings that sometimes, due to the dynamics of the work, cannot be visualized due to the reality lived by the neighbors who can perceive more concretely what is the most immediate need that that neighborhood has” he concluded.
