This Monday, a mobilization was held in the state of Táchira to commemorate the seven years of the Battle of the Bridges. In this context, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, assured that those who celebrated the bombing on January 3 are the same ones who were defeated on February 23, 2019.
«52 days ago we were attacked by a power (…) that ended with the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and Sister Cilia Flores and where more than 100 people lost their lives, many of them had nothing to do with the conflict (…) Now who were those celebrating? The same ones as on February 23, that is, they are the defeated ones; They were those who said that they were going to be here on January 3 governing Venezuela because the Bolivarian Revolution continues to govern here and we give all our solidarity, absolute full support to the sister president in charge Delcy Rodríguez so that she continues forward together with the people making the necessary transformations. And there they will see what they do with their hatred,” Cabello said from Ureña.
«Stupid hatred. Hating your own people, your own country to the point of saying yes to the invasion or the attacks against Venezuela, celebrating the dead. To that extent, really? They may have been born in Venezuela, but they are not Venezuelans. They are not Venezuelans (…) They look like anything, except being Venezuelan. Have your political position; They have every right. But to attack their own country, to ask them to attack their own country. No. That is unacceptable. No, it is not easy to digest, to understand,” he said.
Likewise, he recalled that seven years ago, the Venezuelan and international far-right disguised an attempted invasion with a concert and supposed humanitarian aid, which was neutralized by the national government, at the hands of the organized people.
“They wanted to invade Venezuela and I have no doubt that if those people had entered Venezuela on February 23, the history of Venezuela would be different, but it was thanks to these brave people who stood in the streets with their chests that they could not defeat Venezuela,” he stated.
The general secretary of the red awning also indicated that the right used cognitive warfare to manipulate the information that appeared on social networks and thus deceive the world about what was happening. «Those who were defeated, who invested money, media, invested resources, invested time, brought international singers from all over. The money and humanitarian aid were stolen. And what happened? “They were defeated,” he reiterated.
Cabello specified that that attempted invasion of the country was promoted and financed by Colombian drug trafficking, while “we were moved by love for the country,” for which he thanked the participation of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb), the police forces and the people.
Likewise, he stressed that, despite all the attacks, the attempts to divide the revolutionary ranks, the people, along with their diligence, remain united and in total support of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez. “After the falls we must get up, shake off the dust and always advance along the path of the Bolivarian Revolution, without deviating from the revolutionary path.”
«Chávez said that he was not him, that he was a people. And that he would feel happy in the eyes of children, in the hands of women, in the arms of soldiers. Today we say the same. This revolution is not stopped by anyone. The Bolivarian Revolution is the only guarantee of peace in Venezuelan territory,” Cabello pointed out.
During his speech, Cabello showed a rock with the inscription 23F, as a symbol, with which the leader Darío Vivas marked the road. “He said that they are not going to happen here and together with the humble people, women, men, young people, together with our Bolivarian National Armed Force (…) we fought an unequal battle, an attempted invasion of our country (…) thanks to the brave people who stood in the street, they could not defeat Venezuela,” he expressed.
Chávez sowed patriotism in the people
For his part, the Minister of the Social Process of Labor, Eduardo Piñate, assured that the success in the Battle of the Bridges was due to the level of patriotism that exists in the Venezuelan people.
“We remain united, because Commander Chávez planted values of patriotism in us,” he indicated, while highlighting that this was evident in the events of February 23, 2019 and in the bombing of January 3.
In the same order of ideas, the minister stressed that “the fascist right from Colombia in Cúcuta, supported by surrenderist governments (…) tried to violate sovereignty (…) and they couldn’t.”
Piñate took advantage of his intervention to vindicate the fight that Aristóbulo Istúriz carried out on the border with Brazil, when seven years ago they also tried to invade the country in that sector.
Those present at the mobilization also demanded the release of President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady and deputy Cilia Flores.
