Delcy Rodríguez affirmed that “the Venezuelan State will not rest until each victim of political violence receives justice and comprehensive reparation.” According to her, she will not allow hatred and political violence to be forgotten or impunity.
Delcy Rodríguez, in charge of the Executive, led an event this Monday at the Miraflores Palace with a group of citizens presented as “victims of political violence.”
During the event, Rodríguez used the space to point out the opposition leadership and the private sector, stating that the country has faced “hatred” promoted by groups that, according to his statement, sought non-democratic solutions.
In his speech, he maintained that the leadership hostile to the Executive replaced politics with armed confrontation: “The hatred of an economic and political class in this country has been such that it led to requesting foreign intervention. What could not be resolved in national politics they asked for with missiles, bombs,” he said.
Rodríguez also defined himself as a “victim of puntofijismo” and recalled the protests of 2014 and 2017. He assured that in those years “State security officials died precisely fighting violent demonstrations”; However, it omitted the cases of systematic human rights violations committed by said officials against protesters, which have been documented and denounced by the UN.

Likewise, he asserted that he had to sit “face to face with the executioners of my father” and with the “executioners of our heroes and heroines of January 3”, stating that he has done it “for Venezuela.” According to the official, the State will not rest until each victim receives “justice and comprehensive reparation,” describing these testimonies as the “sacred truth” of the nation.
«The greatest triumph of the revolution is to have preserved peace in the face of aggression. “His bravery is the driving force to continue building a homeland free of fascist violence,” said Rodríguez, after ensuring that he will not allow hatred to go unpunished.
For his part, Jorge Arreaza supported the speech, stating that the State seeks to make visible those who have suffered from opposition “intolerance.” At the meeting, a relative of the victims presented by the government assured that her relatives were targets of attacks due to their political affiliation with the ruling party.
However, Rodríguez ignored that the UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission has documented that the state security apparatus has been the main executor of political violence in the country. Reports from the organization detail that the SEBIN and the DGCIM have applied torture methods—including electric shocks, asphyxiation, and sexual violence—to extract confessions or punish dissent.
The Mission has concluded that there is a “machinery of repression” designed from the highest levels of power to silence opponents, which constitutes crimes against humanity that are currently being investigated by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Journalism in Venezuela is carried out in a hostile environment for the press with dozens of legal instruments in place to punish the word, especially the laws “against hate”, “against fascism” and “against the blockade.” This content was written taking into consideration the threats and limits that, consequently, have been imposed on the dissemination of information from within the country.
