The Federal Justice Council (CJF) released R$1.4 billion to pay arrears from the National Social Security Institute (INSS) to retirees, pensioners and other beneficiaries who won legal actions against the body.
The values correspond to Small Value Requests (RPVs) — debts of up to 60 minimum wages (R$97,260, in 2026).
In total, 87 thousand policyholders will be covered in 65.3 thousand processes with definitive decisions, without the possibility of appeal.
The money must be deposited by the beginning of March, according to the schedule of each Federal Regional Court (TRF).
Who is entitled?
Insured people who:
- won legal action against the INSS;
- with amounts of up to 60 minimum wages to be received (RPV);
- with payment order issued by the judge in January 2026;
- with the case completely closed (final and unappealable); and
- heirs of deceased beneficiaries, as long as they prove a legal relationship.
What benefits are included?
The actions involve granting or reviewing:
- pensions (age, contribution time, disability and the person with a disability);
- death pension;
- aid, such as sickness benefit; and
- Continuous Payment benefit (BPC).
Arrears are retroactive amounts paid after a court decision in favor of the insured.
RPV or precatório: what’s the difference?
- RPV: up to 60 minimum wages. Payment within 60 days of court order
- Precatório: above this value. Paid once a year, according to the federal calendar
When consulting the process, the acronym RPV indicates a small value request; “PRC” identifies precatório.
How to check payment?
The Federal Justice Council transfers the resources to the country’s six TRFs, responsible for deposits, generally in accounts opened at Caixa Econômica Federal or Banco do Brasil.
To find out the date and value:
- access the website of the TRF responsible for the process (links in the table below);
- provide the lawyer’s CPF, case number, request number or OAB (as required by the court);
- check the “value entered in the proposal” field;
- After payment, the system will display the status “Paid in full to the court.”
