Electrical system reaches 80% of demand after general failure

He national electrical system already supplies 80% of the demand, the Ministry of Energy and Minesby highlighting progress in the recovery of the National Electric System Interconnected (SENI), after the general blackout recorded in the morning hours.

Through the third newsletter issued tonight, the electricity sector indicated that the process of reset continues in a sustained manner, which has allowed the progressive stabilization of the network and the incorporation of new areas into the service.

The minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santosassured that the technical work They are still underway to complete the normalization of the system throughout the national territory.

Service restored

He indicated that most of the national territory already has the electrical service restoredjoining new provinces connected including Higüey, La RomanaNagua, Samaná, Montecristi and Valverde Mao.

  • He said that he transmission system has already been restored, in most of these regions the substations are energized, the only thing missing is that some power plants complete the process of increasing the load to its nominal values.

He highlighted that the southern zone was energized early on; among others, they have the majority electrified San Juan, BarahonaAzua, Baní, San Cristóbal, Bonao, La Vega, Santiago, Línea Noroeste, Puerto Plata, San Francisco, as well as different sectors of the National District and San Pedro de Macorís.

Santos reported that the technical equipment of the different entities in the sector remain deployed and working continuously until achieving the total normalization of service throughout the country.
