“The people of peace will always triumph,” stated the governor of the state of Táchira, Freddy Bernal, during the commemorative events of the seventh anniversary of the Battle of the Bridges, where he highlighted that the key to resisting the attacks of the North American empire is the formula of “more organized people and greater awareness.”
Accompanied by the general secretary of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, Bernal emphasized that Venezuela today faces a “cognitive war” that seeks to divide and demoralize the population through control of networks and large media. “No one manipulates this people because they are the people of Bolívar, Chávez and Maduro,” declared the regional president from the main stage.
Bernal recalled that seven years ago an invasion strategy that sought to overthrow the national government through alleged humanitarian aid from abroad was defeated. He pointed out that the aggressor power does not cease its siege after 11 years of economic sanctions and the recent reaffirmation of the decree that classifies the country as an “unusual threat.”
»We will continue to raise, together with our acting president Delcy Rodríguez, the flag of peace; “No one will get us out of there,” said the governor. In this sense, he urged the militancy to strengthen the communal councils and popular organization, stating that “today the sword of Bolívar is more current and vibrant than ever because it is a symbol of spirit.”
The regional leader called not to fall into the sadness or confusion generated by the media siege. He invited the people of Tachira to dream like the Liberator and Commander Chávez on the podium of the United Nations to consolidate the definitive victory.
»There are still battles and paths to walk; “We are the victors of America, the people of Bolívar, Chávez and Maduro,” Bernal concluded, ratifying the commitment to civic-military-police unity that seven years ago made those who tried to violate national sovereignty “bite the dust of defeat.”
Colmenares: the Venezuelan State has demonstrated political maturity
Seven years after that popular victory, the second vice president of the National Assembly, Grecia Colmenares, recalled that the civic-military-police fusion was the insurmountable wall where the pretensions of the North American empire to violate sacred national sovereignty collided.
From the Tachira border, the epicenter of the resistance, Colmenares emphasized that the defeat of the supposed “humanitarian aid”, which was nothing more than an advanced aggression, demonstrated to the world that Venezuela does not bow to foreign ultimatums. «That day, the youth, the grandparents, the men and women of this country, together with our soldiers, decided that this land is respected. It was a victory of dignity that today, in 2026, gives us the strength to continue fighting,” said the parliamentarian.
Drawing a parallel with the current situation, Colmenares denounced that the siege against the country has not ceased, referring to the serious events of January 3 of this year. “If in 2019 they tried to enter through the bridges, today imperialism has carried out what our acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, has called the darkest stain in our history: the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores,” he lashed out.
The deputy pointed out that, despite this “criminal blow” that seeks to implode the institutions, the Venezuelan State has demonstrated unprecedented political maturity. «Like no other country, we have maintained governability. The public powers are today more involved than ever, working together to guarantee that economic growth and productive development do not stop,” he explained.
