Santo Domingo.– The Santo Domingo Metro service was restored this Monday afternoon after being interrupted for several hours due to the national blackout that affected different areas of the country.
After the restoration of the electricity supply, operations have gradually begun to normalize in the different stations, allowing users to resume their usual movements.
The interruption of service caused hundreds of passengers to have to walk long distances or resort to alternative means of transportation, especially in the middle of rush hour, when the traffic flow in the capital intensifies.
During the stoppage, at stations such as Casandra Damirón, Juan Ulises García Saleta and Centro de los Héroes, users were observed leaving the facilities due to the temporary suspension of the system.
So far, authorities have not offered additional details about the specific causes of the outage or the overall impact on transportation system operations.
