The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, made new assignments this Monday in order to strengthen political ties in the world; this as part of its Peace Diplomacy plan.
In that sense, the president appointed Oliver Blanco, who has been active in the opposition, as vice minister for Europe and North America.
«Young Venezuelan in international relations who has had opposition party militancy and maintains a firm commitment to the country. Venezuela will use your commitment and professionalism. “Young people continue to have a relevant space in national life,” the president wrote when referring to Blanco.
Oliver Blanco is an internationalist who was active in the youth of Democratic Action.
In 2016 he served as Director of Communications of the National Assembly (AN). He also carried out various communication works in opposition campaigns.
Gratitude for the inclusive policies of the Executive
Through a statement, Blanco thanked the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, for the appointment and assured that she will assume this “responsibility and deep awareness of the historical moment that Venezuela is experiencing.”
In the text published on his Instagram account, he highlights that, although he is not a member of the government parties, he values his appointment as “a possibility of opening spaces for different visions at the service of the country.”
Vice Minister for Latin America
Likewise, he also announced the appointment of Mauricio Rodríguez as vice minister for Latin America, highlighting the importance of the peace expansion policies carried out by Venezuela.
“With his outstanding career and professionalism, he will continue to promote our foreign policy aimed at peace and integration, as well as the union of our people, based on mutual respect and fraternal cooperation,” the president in charge wrote on her Telegram channel when referring to Mauricio Rodríguez.
Mauricio Rodríguez Gelfenstein is an internationalist and career diplomat; He has played different roles within the Bolivarian Revolution. Prior to this appointment, he served as the highest diplomatic authority of Venezuela before the Kingdom of Spain (as chargé d’affaires ad interim).
He was also Minister of Communication and Information during the mandate of Commander Hugo Chávez (2010) and has chaired the ViveTV channel.
Vice Minister for International Communication
The president in charge also announced that Rander Peña will be the new vice minister for International Communication, a position previously held by Camilla Fabri de Saab, whom she thanked for her duties at the head of this office.
“I know that, with his experience and demonstrated capabilities, he will bring the truth of Venezuela to the people,” Rodríguez wrote.
Rander Peña was appointed in 2025 as executive secretary of ALBA-TCP. Before playing this role, he served until now as vice minister for Latin America.
He also serves as commissioner of International Youth Relations of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV).
Deputy Minister for Asia, Middle East and Oceania
As part of these new appointments, the president in charge reported that Andrea Corao Faria will be the new vice minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, in order to “continue consolidating the defense of sovereignty and solidarity cooperation between brother peoples.”
“His commitment and capacity will strengthen our diplomacy with countries around the world with whom we maintain strategic relations,” the publication indicated, along with Corao’s photo.
Andrea Corao Faria is a career diplomat and specialist in international relations. His profile is characterized by a high technical level and a career directly linked to operational work within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Corao comes from serving as vice minister for Europe and North America.
