Venezuela and Switzerland review bilateral agenda in session of the Human Rights Council.

Foreign Minister Yván Gil held a meeting with the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis, during the celebration of the 61st period of sessions of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva.

“In this meeting, we reviewed diplomatic and bilateral relations, with the aim of strengthening mutual cooperation for the benefit of our people, always respecting national sovereignty,” the chancellor reported through his Telegram channel.

Both diplomats shared impressions on issues of international geopolitics, where Venezuela advocates the construction of a pluricentric and multipolar world, in which respect for the self-determination of peoples and other principles contained in the UN Charter prevail.

Gil is in Geneva, where the sessions of the Human Rights Council corresponding to the 61st period of the instance are being held until March 31.

In his speech before the plenary session, The chancellor warned about the politicization of the multilateral system and denounced the multiform aggression that Venezuela faces.
