Hundreds of users woke up with the same concern: the application did not load correctly, balances seemed altered and some operations were not completed.
The situation generated confusion and uncertainty among Bancolombia clients, who took to social networks en masse to report what was happening.
The first reports indicated that the application showed figures that did not match the money available.
In some cases, the amounts appeared to automatically add up to so-called “pockets” or separate savings, leading to concerns that there were errors in the system. Other users claimed that the information simply did not load or appeared blank.
Along with the inconsistencies in the balances, several clients expressed difficulties making transfers, checking recent movements or confirming payments. Although some functions continued to operate, the intermittency was enough to set off alarms. For many, the biggest problem was not just the technical failure, but the uncertainty about the true status of their money.
Complaints multiplied quickly. On platforms like X and Facebook, users expressed annoyance at not being able to verify urgent payments, make immediate transfers, or confirm recent income.
Some indicated that they needed to access their accounts to fulfill business or personal commitments and that the failure caused delays.
As the hours passed, it became known that the situation coincided with scheduled maintenance work on the digital systems. However, discontent increased because several customers claimed that the problems extended beyond the expected time and that the information available was not clear enough.
Although card payments in stores and ATM withdrawals continued to work, the focus of the annoyance was on digital channels.
The mobile application is today the main means of relationship between the bank and millions of people, so any interruption directly impacts the daily lives of users.
Experts in digital financial services point out that these types of incidents, although they do not necessarily imply loss of money, do affect trust. In an environment where operations are carried out in real time, the perception of instability can generate immediate anxiety.
So far, the situation has been framed as a technical contingency. However, the episode leaves an open question among customers.
