The National Police arrested in the province La Vega to a man, for alleged digital harassment and sending sexual content to a preteen 13 years old, whose identity is reserved.
It is about Carlos Eduardo Gil Jimenezwho was arrested in compliance with Arrest Order No. RAJ-2026-00758, by members of the Human Trafficking and Trafficking Investigation Department, in coordination with the Public Ministry.
A court order issued on January 22, 2026 by the Criminal Judicial Office of Santo Domingo weighs against the detainee, for alleged violation of articles 12, 14 and 396 of Law 136-03 and article 355 of the Dominican Penal Code.
According to the preliminary report, the arrest was possible thanks to intelligence work that allowed the accused to be located at a fuel station in La Vega, where he had allegedly coordinated a meeting with the minor, evidencing the continuity of the harassment.
The investigation began after the complaint filed on January 13, 2026 by the teenager’s mother, who warned about inappropriate communications through social networks.
According to the investigations, the minor was contacted through a false profile on instagram and subsequently received persistent messages via WhatsAppincluding audiovisual material of a sexual nature, even after the accused was aware of his age.
The digital evidence collected by the investigators establishes sufficient evidence of criminal responsibility, so the detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
