The sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, reported that in recent days the first consular visit to President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores, took place.
According to the senior official, the meeting was authorized under the protocols of international law, allowing a representative of the Venezuelan State to establish direct contact with both.
Cabello explained that these efforts are part of the daily efforts carried out by the national government to guarantee the well-being and return of the president.
He specified that, in the absence of operational diplomatic headquarters in the jurisdiction where they are located, consular access becomes the fundamental mechanism to verify their situation and receive any expression of will from the detained citizens.
The sector vice president stressed that this procedure is an inalienable right stipulated in international conventions.
Likewise, Diosdado Cabello confirmed that the Venezuelan State remains active in complying with legal channels to protect the integrity of Maduro and Flores, ensuring that the communication established with the designated official allows the needs and status of the presidential couple to be formally channeled.
