Minister André Mendonça, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), decided this Thursday (19) that banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, is not obliged to attend the testimonies scheduled for next week in two Senate committees.
The testimonies are scheduled to take place at the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) of the INSS and the Economic Affairs Commission (CAE) in next Monday (23) and Tuesday (24), respectively.
For the minister, the banker’s attendance at the hearing is optional. Vorcaro is being investigated in the process that investigates fraud at Master. Mendonça is the case’s rapporteur.
In the same decision, the minister denied a request made by Vorcaro’s defense for the banker to travel to Brasília, if he wants to attend the testimonies, in a private jet. Lawyers cited security issues in requesting air transfer.
In November 2025, banker Daniel Vorcaro and other defendants were targeted by Operation Compliance Zerolaunched by the Federal Police (PF) to investigate the granting of false credits by Banco Master, including the attempted purchase of the financial institution by Banco Regional de Brasília (BRB), a public bank linked to the government of the Federal District.
According to preliminary investigations, fraud could reach R$17 billion.
