Attorney General Tarek William Saab assured that after the approval of the Amnesty Law, “there can be no excuses to once again take Venezuela to scenarios similar to those that this law is closing with forgiveness.”
During a day of “The Public Ministry goes to your community,” the prosecutor added that this legal instrument “closes a circle of internal wounds in Venezuelan society, where the message is that violence should not be resorted to again as an excuse to settle differences.”
In addition, he said that this will close this entire quarter of a century where there have been actions that are already known. “The message is clear, and it is to give us a new opportunity to solve the problems.”
“The message is that violence should never again be used to settle differences between factors that may oppose the State, opposition sectors and the State as guarantor of legality and that has often been a victim of these actions.”
Saab stressed that the legal instrument must open a new era where dialogue and debate of ideas prevail in the country to consolidate peace and reconciliation. l
