President Balcázar met with Julio Velarde

As part of his official activities at the Government Palace, the President of the Republic, José María Balcázar Zelada, held a meeting today afternoon with the president of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, Julio Velarde.

The meeting, scheduled for 6:00 pm, took place within the framework of the institutional agenda of the head of state and was reported through the official channels of the Presidency of the Republic.

According to the information released, the purpose of the meeting was to reaffirm the commitment of the current administration to monetary stability and the strengthening of the national economy, for the benefit of the population, as well as the prioritization of an agenda aimed at the development of the country.

It should be remembered that Julio Velarde’s period as head of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru ends on July 28 of this year.

The official assumed the position in 2021 and, in accordance with the provisions of the Organic Law of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, the members of the Board of Directors – including its president – are appointed for a period of five years.
