The second day of strike in La Oroya began with the arrival of several buses with Protestants who came from the central jungle. Around 1:30 in the morning they burned tires and placed stones in the Curipata and Huaynacancha sector at the entrance to La Oroya. Which closed the road for almost two hours. After that, the National Police was able to release the pass and normalize traffic in La Oroya.
The protesters stationed at this place quickly took to the road, making the fighting measure felt for two hours but then folding on the side of the road, in the presence of the police.
Again, starting at 6:00 in the morning, a peaceful march took place along one lane of the central highway.
They regain strength
The protesters were stationed at the Huayncancha communal premises where they slept and had breakfast to march to the whereabouts of Tarma at Km 172.
For their part, the members of the committee against isolation and the defense committee of La Oroya had communicated that they would be stationed in this sector of the Tarma whereabouts, but, until 8:00 in the morning, there were only a maximum of 20 leaders without the population that did not submit to the strike.
Around 8:30 in the morning, regional authorities arrived – Rony Bejarano, Infrastructure Manager of the GORE Junín, is in Huaynacancha trying to organize the fighting measures – and the mayor of the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo, Dennys Cuba, who leads a march of almost 80 to 90 GORE workers and residents of Huancayo, along a single lane of the central highway towards La Oroya Antiguo, trying to convince the population to join the strike.
