A mother lost her life after being hit by a vehicle that had invaded the oncoming lane in the district of Sapallanga, province of Huancayo.
The victim was identified as Norma Vilca, a single mother of four children, who was on her way to Chinchaysuyo school, where the youngest of them studies, when she was hit by the car with license plate W1G-453. According to witnesses and family members, the driver was apparently intoxicated at the time of the accident.
According to the family’s version, the vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction when it hit the woman who was walking in the area. “A dizzy drunk killed my niece,” one of her aunts said through tears, demanding justice.
The driver was identified as Cristhian Rojas and was taken into custody for the corresponding proceedings, while the authorities investigate the circumstances of the accident.
The death of Norma Vilca has caused deep consternation in the community, as it leaves four minors orphaned.
