Although the former administrator of the National Lottery Luis Maisichell Dicent was discharged due to insufficient evidence in the alleged linked fraud case known as Operation 13, he said at a press conference that the consequences of the case are not yet completely closed.
He stated that during his administration he denounced irregularities that bothered powerful sectors, but that this made him part of the hurricane, which affected the lives of his children and without having the political support of the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party PRM, but he assured that he would not hold a grudge against them.
He asked to review the judicial system, which he defined as a “disorder where hatred is promoted as a tool in the courts.” “It is not possible that today there are cases that, I understand, were implemented under the same premise as mine: blackmail, extortion, pressure. ‘If you don’t do this, I’ll lock you up,'” he said.
The former administrator did not hesitate to question the Public Ministry, pointing out that many of the cases pending in court will face difficulties. “It is not a question of innocence or guilt, but rather that what is driven by the desire of hatred will never give a positive result,” he warned. For this reason, I deplore how there are thousands of citizens who are innocently imprisoned today and who, like him, did not have the opportunity to have a people that would get involved. “Therefore, I, on the other hand, am the result of a people who committed themselves, defended me, fought for me until the end and have supported me unconditionally throughout this absurd process,” he expressed.
After being acquitted, Dicent pointed out that this process does not end with his acquittal, but only begins by exposing how a framework was built to remove him from the public scene.
