The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, received the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, at the Miraflores Palace, in order to consolidate the ties of brotherhood between both nations.
The information was disseminated by the Minister of Communication and Information, Miguel Pérez Pirela, on his Telegram channel, along with a video of the meeting. In the post he highlighted that the meeting was held within the framework of the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy and aims to “deepen the bilateral and strategic agenda between both nations.”
“The meeting served as a setting for the detailed review of the comprehensive cooperation map shared by Caracas and Doha,” says Pérez Pirela’s publication.
It should be noted that Venezuela and Qatar have maintained ties of brotherhood and cooperation for more than 52 years, formal ties (established on May 24, 1973), which have transcended energy alliances to comprehensive cooperation in various areas.
Both nations currently maintain close ties of cooperation in fundamental areas ranging from agriculture, tourism, trade and energy.
Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani arrived in the country on February 17 through the Maiquetía Airport and was received by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil, who highlighted that the reason for the official visit is to “strengthen bilateral relations.”
