Hotel occupancy during this year’s carnival surpassed 2025 figures, reaching an average of 99.02% in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, higher than last year’s 98.62%.
The balance was released this Wednesday (18) by the Union of Hotels and Accommodation Services of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro (HotéisRIO).
The region with the highest average occupancy was the one stretching from Glória to Botafogo, with 99.89%, followed by Ipanema/Leblon (99.75%), Centro (99.47%), Leme/Copacabana (99.46%) and Barra/Recreio/São Conrado (97.98%).
According to an analysis by the president of HotéisRIO, Alfredo Lopes, the streets were full of revelers, who followed the blocks and enjoyed the sunny days on the city’s famous beaches.
“A typically Rio party, with hospitality and joy, which resulted in full hotels and benefits for tourism – bars, restaurants and shopping malls – and for the entire city,” said Lopes.
