The survey carried out by CIT indicated that 73.1% of Peruvians consider that former President José Jerí favored close people in the workplace after they visited him in the Palace.
This perception is higher in men with 77.7% than in women with 68.6%. Likewise, it has a greater presence in people over 30 and 50 years old in the center of the country.
On the other hand, the survey indicates that 64.3% of Peruvians disapprove of the management that the former president developed in February of this year. Only 26.5% approve it.
Regarding their actions, 50.5% consider that the transfer of the criminal popularly known as ‘The Monster’ meant a “media show”, while 37.3% perceived that it was a necessary security measure.

The Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Congress of the Republic decided to censure President José Jerí due to his clandestine meetings with Chinese businessmen in December 2025 and in January of this year. The final decision had the support of 75 congressmen; However, there were 16 of Keiko Fujimori’s Popular Force bench who opposed it until the end.
The parliamentarians who opposed were Arturo Alegría, Alejandro Aguinaga, Rosangella Barbarán, Ernesto Bustamente, Enrique Castillo, Nilza Chacón, Víctor Flores, Raúl Huamán Coronado, Mary Infantes, Patricia Juárez, Jeny López, Martha Moyano, Auristela Obando, Tania Ramírez, César Villanueva, María Zeta Chunga.
This support had already been announced by the Fujimori leader last Sunday, February 15. According to what he said in a video broadcast on social networks, “the stability of the country” should be prioritized.
Likewise, two congressmen from Acción Popular, five from Somos Perú and one from Honor and Democracy also voted against the motions of censure.
